The mission of the Harbor District Market  is to support local producers and artisans, provide fresh healthy food and local crafts to consumers of all income levels, educate the public about local sourcing and nutrition, and build an inclusive community around locally sourced food and other products

In addition to select anchor vendors, anassortment of local products will be offered in permanent, temporary, and daily stalls. Combined with special events and demonstrations the Harbor District Market will serve as a vital heart  to  our historic downtown and will showcase all that our unique area of the state has to offer. The Underground Railroad Museum will educate visitors and locals about how the African American community has played an essential part in the agricultural history of Washington and Eastern North Carolina.
