H.E.A.L. Healthy Eating & Active Living

Many of the people living in Beaufort County struggle with health issues, including hypertension and type 2 diabetes – with 15% of adults over 20 years old in Beaufort County having diabetes, and 35% of adults being obese. These things could be consequences of the diets of many of the inhabitants of Beaufort County as a result of the lack of access to healthier food options, but can also be attributed to a lack of active living.

Our Mission

The mission of the Harbor District Market  is to support local producers and artisans, provide fresh healthy food and local crafts to consumers of all income levels, educate the public about local sourcing and nutrition, and build an inclusive community around locally sourced food and other products

Vendor Spaces

In addition to select anchor vendors, anassortment of local products will be offered in permanent, temporary, and daily stalls. Combined with special events and demonstrations the Harbor District Market will serve as a vital heart  to  our historic downtown and will showcase all that our unique area of the state has to offer. If you are interested in joining us in this fun and exciting opportunity consider becoming a vendor.

Exhibit Spaces

The Underground Railroad Museum will educate visitors and locals about how the African American community has played an essential part in the agricultural history of Washington and Eastern North Carolina.
